Both medications are useful for chronic heart failure of various origins.

The drugs significantly reduce the risk of sudden death, the frequency of re-hospitalization, and also improve the quality of life of patients.

If you have the slightest ailment associated with increased blood pressure, such as frequent headaches and dizziness, spots flashing before your eyes, as well as if you experience aching or stabbing pain in the sternum, shortness of breath, it is important to consult a doctor in a timely manner.

Timely consultation with a doctor will significantly reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack.

Which is better - Bisoprolol and Concor

In the treatment of many diseases, Concor can be replaced with Bisprolol. When choosing the right beta blocker, which includes bisoprolol, doctors prescribe one of these drugs. The advantage of Bisoprolol is that it is cheaper. Since the products are analogues, they can replace each other without loss of effectiveness.

A specialist must choose which drug is best for the patient. The principle of action and treatment results are the same for both drugs.

The attending physician prescribes the necessary remedy, taking into account the patient’s age, the individual characteristics of his body, the stage of the disease and the severity of symptoms. The drugs are used to treat heart disease and hypertension. In some cases, doctors prescribe these drugs for prevention.

Mikhail Alexandrovich, 62 years old

I have been suffering from angina pectoris for several years, and during attacks there is severe pain. To treat the pathology, the cardiologist prescribed Concor. This is a good remedy, it acts gently and does not cause adverse reactions. After therapy I felt better and my angina attacks disappeared.

Nina Vasilievna, 52 years old

To treat arterial hypertension, the doctor prescribed Bisoprolol. I took 1 tablet a day. After the end of treatment, the blood pressure returned to normal, the headaches went away and my overall health improved. This is an excellent medicine that helped eliminate the disease.

Varvara, 28 years old

I suffer from heart failure and heart rhythm disturbances. For treatment, she took various medications and used folk recipes. There was no particular effect from them. Recently, a cardiologist prescribed Bisoprolol. The medication does not cause negative reactions, after treatment the arrhythmia disappeared and the condition improved.

Bisoprolol and Concor are medications from the group of beta blockers that are widely used to treat hypertension and cardiovascular diseases: heart failure; coronary heart disease; heart rhythm disturbances; prevention of angina attacks.

Concor tablets

Concor and other bisoprolol preparations have significant advantages that have made them very popular among patients and doctors.

Compound

The composition of the medicines includes the main active ingredient – bisoprol. That is why they act almost identically. Their effectiveness is at the same level.

Bisoprolol tablets

Contraindications for use and side effects are also similar. So what is the difference between Concor and Bisoprolol? They differ only in the manufacturer and price. Bisoprolol is a domestic analogue of Concor. When comparing Concor or Bisoprolol, the price difference is quite significant. The Russian drug costs slightly less than its foreign counterpart.

Advantages

The advantage of the drugs over other drugs is the following:

  • It is enough to take Concor and Bisoprolol once a day. One tablet will provide the patient with stable blood pressure for a day;
  • taking medications does not depend on food intake;
  • These beta blockers have fewer side effects than their predecessors;
  • medications do not affect potency in men;
  • affordable price.
  • Bisoprolol and Concor are metabolically neutral drugs. They do not affect the metabolism of cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose in the blood. They are safely prescribed to patients with type 2 diabetes and the elderly.

And yet, many patients are concerned with the question: Bisoprolol and Concor - which is better? Some patients benefit from the more expensive original Concor, while others can trust their health exclusively to domestic medicine. The choice of drug for treatment remains with the patients.

Daily blood pressure monitoring showed that after taking Bisoprolol or Concor tablets, the blood pressure remains normal in the morning of the day following administration.

Other beta blockers reduced or completely stopped their hypotensive effect 4 hours before taking the next dose of the drug.

These medications can effectively control blood pressure and heart rate not only at rest, but also during exercise. In this regard, they work better than, for example, Metoprolol. The most important feature of drugs is the stability and uniformity of their action throughout the day.

For severe hypertension, combinations of Bisoprolol with other medications are prescribed: diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and other drugs for hypertension. It was found that the blood pressure lowering effect of Concor and Bisoprol remained stable over the 3 years that the study continued.

Medicines, even without combination with other medications, provide the desired effect in patients suffering from mild or moderate hypertension.

For different diseases and depending on the patient’s condition, the dosage of drugs may be different:

  • for hypertension, the initial dose is 5 mg per day, gradually increasing it to 10 mg per day;
  • for coronary heart disease, the dosage ranges from 2.5 to 10 mg per day. It is selected strictly individually until the pulse rate reaches 50-60 beats per minute;
  • for chronic heart failure, medications are prescribed in addition to therapy with diuretics and ACE inhibitors. The initial dose is 1.25 mg per day.

For elderly patients, the dosage of medications is prescribed on a general basis. Treatment of heart diseases with beta blockers and their dosage can only be prescribed by a doctor!

Any beta blockers reduce blood flow in the placenta, and this negatively affects the development of the unborn baby.

It is recommended to stop taking Concor 3 days before the expected due date.

After the birth of the child, he needs to be carefully examined. The newborn may experience symptoms of bradycardia and hypoglycemia.

The active ingredient Concor is not excreted into breast milk, but its use while feeding a baby is not recommended. If you still need to take the medicine, doctors insist that you stop breastfeeding.

This is due to the fact that both alcohol and medications undergo processing in the liver, and this negatively affects its work.

Bisoprolol and Concor should not be combined with alcoholic beverages.

During their interaction, the functioning of the heart is disrupted. In this case, arrhythmia and pain in the heart area occur. Alcohol can significantly increase blood pressure. Even a small dose of alcohol during therapy can cause a sedative effect: a feeling of emotional depression, severe lethargy.

Concomitant use of alcohol and beta blockers can be fatal!

Analogs

There are many analogues of these drugs available on the pharmacy market:

  1. Biprol;
  2. Bisogamma;
  3. Niperten;
  4. Bisoprolol-Lugal;
  5. Bisoprolol-Prana;
  6. Bisoprolol-ratiopharm.

Each manufacturer of Bisoprolol analogues tries to convince doctors that their drug meets international quality standards and is not inferior in its effect to the original Concor.

Every doctor has his own opinion on this matter. When prescribing a drug, he is guided by practical experience and the patient’s condition.

Contraindications

The list of contraindications for both drugs is almost the same:

  • cardiogenic shock;
  • bradycardia;
  • atrioventricular block II and III degrees;
  • sick sinus syndrome;
  • hypotension;
  • hypersensitivity to beta blockers;
  • respiratory tract diseases, pulmonary emphysema, severe forms of bronchial asthma.

Beta blockers are prescribed with caution for liver and chronic renal failure, myasthenia gravis; disorders of the thyroid gland, diabetes mellitus; depression, psoriasis.

Side effects

  • Bisoprolol and Concor are tolerated by patients much better than older generation beta blockers.
  • Side effects when taking beta blockers are still possible and they manifest themselves in the following:
  • from the central nervous system: weakness, fatigue, dizziness, headaches, nightmares, anxiety;
  • from the senses: vision problems, conjunctivitis, dry and sore eyes;
  • from the cardiovascular system: bradycardia, rapid heartbeat, cardiac arrhythmias, arterial hypotension;
  • from the digestive system: nausea, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea;

Video on the topic

Bisoprolol and Concor are modern selective drugs from the group of beta blockers. They have proven high effectiveness in the treatment of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. Side effects are relatively rare and are well tolerated by patients.

It is these medications that lower blood pressure to the desired level, reduce the frequency of angina attacks and manifestations of heart failure. Timely treatment with beta blockers prescribed by a doctor will reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack. The difference between Concor and Bisoprolol is only in the manufacturer and price. Bisoprol is a domestic drug.

In Russia, it is included in the Federal program of preferential drug provision for patients.

One of the methods of lowering blood pressure (BP) is the systematic use of drugs from the group of beta1-blockers, including bisoprolol fumarate. This substance is found in many medicines, including Bisoprolol, Biol, Niperten, Concor and their analogues.

Many patients suffering from arterial hypertension (AH) ask about which is better: Concor or Bisoprolol. Both medications are equally often prescribed by a therapist to stabilize blood pressure when it persistently increases from 140/90 mmHg. Art.

Advantages

The advantages of the drugs over other drugs are the following:

  • It is enough to take Concor and Bisoprolol once a day. One tablet will provide the patient with stable blood pressure for a day;
  • taking medications does not depend on food intake;
  • These beta blockers have fewer side effects than their predecessors;

And yet, many patients are concerned with the question: Bisoprolol and Concor - which is better? Some patients benefit from the more expensive original Concor, while others can trust their health exclusively to domestic medicine. The choice of drug for treatment remains with the patients.

Which is better to choose Concor or Bisoprolol?

Modern pharmaceuticals launch new drugs almost every six months, but not everything new is good. What medications should I take? And in what cases? Which drug has fewer side effects?

Concor

Concor is a drug prescribed to patients suffering from surges in blood pressure. It comes in the form of white tablets. The main indication for use is coronary heart disease, prevention of angina pectoris, blood pressure surges, and chronic heart failure.

The drug has a number of main contraindications, they should be taken into account when prescribing treatment:

  1. Any forms of bronchial asthma.
  2. A sharp decrease in blood pressure.
  3. Shock caused by heart rhythm disturbances.
  4. Circulatory disorders.
  5. Caution should be taken concomitantly with other inhibitor drugs.
  6. Age up to 18 years.
  7. Kidney failure.

I would like to make a separate point about taking Concor during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Self-prescription of this drug is impossible. The doctor prescribes treatment with this medicine if the benefits to the mother outweigh the consequences for the development of the fetus.

The tablets should be taken before or after breakfast with a small amount of liquid; for proper absorption, it is not recommended to chew the drug or grind it into powder.

Taking this drug requires constant monitoring by your doctor, so you can adjust the ideal dose for the patient. It is recommended to begin treatment with small doses, then gradually increase, but provided that the previous dose of the drug was well tolerated by the patient.

Bisoprolor

This medication is available in the form of white tablets. It is aimed at treating angina pectoris, persistent high blood pressure, and is also used in complex therapy for recovery after a heart attack.

The drug has the following contraindications:

  • Any forms of bronchial asthma.
  • Shock caused by heart rhythm disturbances.
  • Circulatory disorders.
  • Refunds up to 18 years of age.
  • Liver failure.
  • Pregnancy and lactation period.
  • Any other individual intolerance to bisoprolor and other components included in its composition.
  • It is necessary to use with caution with other drugs, because may cause a severe allergic reaction.

The drug should be used only after a doctor's prescription. Before taking it, it is necessary to completely exclude acute heart failure.

And also the attending physician should adjust the dosage, start with the lowest dose, gradually increasing, and monitor the patient’s condition.

Bisoprolor should be taken in the first half of the day with plenty of water, without tying the medication to breakfast.

The medication has a wide range of side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, heart failure, headache, a sharp drop in blood pressure and many others. If you feel worse, you should stop taking it and consult a doctor immediately. In case of acute drug poisoning, rinse the stomach and call an ambulance.

In fact, if you conduct a comparative analysis of the components included in these drugs, you can conclude that these are almost identical drugs.

Bisoprolor is part of Concor and is its main pharmaceutical component, i.e. Concor is a more expensive analogue. The principle of their effect on blood pressure is absolutely the same.

As described above, these are analogue drugs. Their main difference is the manufacturer. Bisoprolor is a domestic medicine, well known to the older generation, because has been assigned to them for many years. Concor is a newer analogue of its works in Germany. Another difference is the price. Due to foreign production, the price of concor is several times higher.

It is believed that the effects of Concor are gentler on the body, and some patients complain that it is ineffective for them; in fact, this is the individual tolerance of the drug. Concor contains additional components in the form of calcium magnesium and titanium dioxide.

These drugs are good because they can be used by older people without causing serious harm to health. But taking it during pregnancy is different: bisoprolor cannot be used in its pure form during this period, but Concor is most often prescribed to pregnant women suffering from cardiovascular diseases and high blood pressure.

It must be taken into account that drugs of this class affect blood flow to the placenta, which means the development of the fetus may be at risk. Therefore, only a doctor can prescribe these medications, and also adjust the correct dosage so as not to harm either the mother or the baby.

So, to summarize, we can say that these two drugs are practically no different from each other, with the exception of the country of origin and price, but they have a number of advantages in relation to other analogues:

  1. Availability. They can be easily found at your nearest pharmacy and are also affordable.
  2. It should be used once a day, without being tied to your diet.
  3. Gentle effect on the body.
  4. Can be used by elderly people, as well as patients suffering from diabetes.
  5. Possible use during pregnancy.

Contraindications

The list of contraindications for both drugs is almost the same:

  • cardiogenic shock;
  • bradycardia;
  • atrioventricular block II and III degrees;
  • sick sinus syndrome;
  • hypotension;
  • hypersensitivity to beta blockers;
  • respiratory tract diseases, pulmonary emphysema, severe forms of bronchial asthma.

Beta blockers are prescribed with caution for liver and chronic renal failure, myasthenia gravis; disorders of the thyroid gland, diabetes mellitus; depression, psoriasis.

Comparison of drugs "Bisoprolol" and "Concor"

Both medications belong to the group of beta blockers. The active ingredient of both products is bisoprolol. Concor contains excipients:

  • starch;
  • crospovidone;
  • calcium hydrogen phosphate.

Bisoprolol contains the following excipients:

  • cellulose;
  • magnesium stearate;
  • lactose;
  • iron oxide.

Both products are available in tablets of 5 and 10 mg.

Similarities

The drugs have the same principle of action. The antihypertensive properties of drugs are manifested through blockade of beta-adrenergic receptors. A single dose of drugs in patients with ischemic pathology reduces the heart rate. With long-term therapy, vascular resistance decreases. The therapeutic effect is observed after 4 hours. The tablets can be taken before and after meals.

Medicines are eliminated by the liver and kidneys. Even older people can use these medications, because... The drugs have minimal side effects. The attending physician prescribes medications depending on the age and form of the disease.

The dose of medication is 1 tablet per day. In some cases, the doctor increases the dosage. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Since both drugs lead to a decrease in blood pressure, they are contraindicated in cases of arterial hypotension, intolerance to the components and in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Both medications have hypotensive and antianginal properties. These drugs are used to treat arterial hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.

Concor together with Bisoprolol are indicated if: angina pectoris, coronary heart disease, tachycardia are present.

Indications:

  • angina pectoris;
  • cardiac ischemia;
  • tachycardia;
  • heart failure;
  • hypertension;
  • arrhythmia.

What is the difference

The active component of Concor is bisoprolol, but despite this, the drugs have some differences. Concor is produced in Germany, and Bisoprolol in Russia, it is an analogue of a foreign medicine. The difference between the drugs is the manufacturing company and the price. The effectiveness and therapeutic effect of the medications are the same. Their differences can be determined individually: Concor helps some people, and Bisoprolol helps others. Medicines also have complex effects.

Which is cheaper?

Bisprolol is cheaper than Concor:

  • Concor, tablets 5 mg 50 pcs., price – 290 rubles;
  • Concor, tablets 10 mg 50 pcs., price – 480 rubles;
  • Bisoprolol, tablets 5 mg 30 pcs., price – 80 rubles;
  • Bisoprolol, tablets 5 mg 60 pcs., price – 110 rubles.

In patients with other cardiovascular pathologies, bisoprolol normalizes the pulse, reduces muscle volume and the myocardial need for oxygen. Additionally, the integral resistance of peripheral vessels decreases, which only enhances the antihypertensive effectiveness of drugs with bisoprolol.

"Bisoprolol"

In Russia, the drug "Bisoprolol" is produced by several companies, and is also presented in pharmacies by the Israeli version, sold under the same name. The following enterprises are engaged in production:

  1. Vertex;
  2. Teva;
  3. Izvarino;
  4. North Star;
  5. Irbitsky chemical plant.

One package can contain 30, 50 or 60 tablets, the appearance of which varies depending on the manufacturer. The ratio of the leading substance also varies: 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg. In addition, there is a version of the drug “Bisoprolol AML”, which additionally contains amlodipine, an antihypertensive component.

The standard product, in addition to the active ingredient in the form of fumarate, also contains auxiliary ingredients. For example, the drug from the Russian brand “Vertex” includes lactose, cellulose, silicon, magnesium and crospovidone.

Since bisoprolol is a potent substance that affects the functioning of the cardiovascular system, the list of contraindications to its use is quite extensive:

  • acute cardiac failure;
  • collapse or cardiac shock;
  • bradycardia - rare heart rate;
  • significant reduction in pressure;
  • severe bronchial asthma;
  • age up to 18 years.

Side effects from the use of Bisoprolol are also quite numerous, but are relatively rare in sensitive patients. Thus, some patients complained of weakness, headache, poor sleep, allergies and flushing. In some cases, a dyspeptic complex of symptoms occurs - abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, nausea.

"Concor"

This drug is produced in Russia under the control of the German pharmaceutical plant Merck KGaA. One package of medicine may contain 30 or 50 tablets of bisoprolol equal to 5 mg or 10 mg. It is quite easy to distinguish both variations: 5 mg capsules are light yellow, and 10 mg capsules are orange.

In both cases, they are heart-shaped, covered with a film shell and have a pronounced score on each side. In addition to the substances included in the composition, auxiliary components can be isolated from the tablets themselves. In addition to bisoprolol, the manufacturer added:

  • calcium;
  • starch;
  • silicon;
  • microcrystalline cellulose;
  • crospovidone;
  • magnesium.

Each Concor tablet is enclosed in its own cell inside a blister, which can contain 10, 25 or 30 pieces.

An increased degree of susceptibility to any of the components of the product is the main contraindication to its use. In addition, the medication is not prescribed to patients with chronic or acute pathologies of the cardiovascular system, including cardiogenic shock, bradycardia and severe hypotension.

In most cases, Concor is contraindicated for use in therapy if the patient has a history of severe bronchial asthma, pheochromocytoma, liver dysfunction and diabetes mellitus with severe fluctuations in sugar levels.

As for side effects from taking pills, most often patients taking Concor complain of dizziness, headaches, a sharp decrease in blood pressure, nausea and vomiting. Possible symptoms include:

  • bradycardia;
  • numbness of hands and feet;
  • bronchospasm;
  • muscle weakness;
  • diarrhea or constipation.

In case of an overdose of Concor, the patient suddenly experiences a drop in blood pressure, cardiac failure and arrhythmia, convulsions or fainting are identified. In this case, it is necessary to perform gastric lavage and prescribe symptomatic treatment to the patient.

"Bisoprolol" and "Concor" are prescribed to patients who suffer from chronic arterial hypertension that has arisen as a primary or secondary disease.

In addition, the medicine is used in the treatment of aggravated heart failure, as it normalizes blood pressure and heart rate.

In a number of situations, the use of bisoprolol is indicated as a measure to prevent possible attacks of angina.

Due to the fact that the period of action of bisoprolol is at least 24 hours, it is enough to take the medicine once a day. Doctors recommend doing this at the same time - for example, in the morning before or after a snack, with water. You should not chew it, nor should you dissolve or grind it.

The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor individually, but usually these medications are used as part of long-term therapy.

Is there a difference

"Bisoprolol" differs from "Concor" quite slightly: both drugs are based on the same active ingredient, and are presented on the market in equal types of dosages - 5 mg or 10 mg tablets. The difference lies in the set of auxiliary components and the appearance of the drugs, which does not have any effect on their pharmacological properties.

For this reason, there is no significant difference for the patient, from a medical point of view, which of the two drugs to choose. In both cases, the effectiveness of therapy will be similar, so Bisoprolol and Concor can rightly be considered interchangeable drugs.

Due to the lack of pharmacological differences between the compared drugs, their cost comes to the fore. This factor is important given the need for months-long therapy using a large number of tablets. The approximate price of Bisoprolol in Russia today is as follows:

  • 100 rubles for 30 pieces of 2.5 mg from Vertex;
  • 140 rubles for 50 pieces of 5 mg;
  • 160 rubles for 30 pieces of 10 mg from Vertex;
  • 105 rubles for 30 pieces of 5 mg from Teva;
  • 170 rubles for 50 pieces of 5 mg from Teva;
  • 280 rubles for 50 pieces of 10 mg from Teva.

As can be seen from the comparison, the price of the domestic version of the drug is noticeably lower than the cost of a foreign drug from an Israeli manufacturer. As for the Russian-German Concor, prices for the same dosages and a comparable number of tablets are much higher. For a package of 50 pieces of 5 mg you will have to pay 300 rubles, for a pack of 50 pieces. for 10 mg of bisoprolol – almost 500 rubles.

Obviously, the original varieties of Bisoprolol are more profitable for use during long-term therapy than their analogue, produced under its own brand Concor.

Side effects

Bisoprolol and Concor are tolerated by patients much better than older generation beta blockers.

Side effects when taking beta blockers are still possible and they manifest themselves in the following:

  • from the central nervous system: weakness, fatigue, dizziness, headaches, nightmares, anxiety;
  • from the senses: vision problems, conjunctivitis, dry and sore eyes;
  • from the cardiovascular system: bradycardia, rapid heartbeat, cardiac arrhythmias, arterial hypotension;
  • from the digestive system : nausea, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea;
  • from the endocrine system: weakened thyroid function;
  • allergic reactions: rash, urticaria, itchy skin.

When taking medications, blood test parameters may change: thrombocytopenia, increased activity of liver enzymes ALT, as well as bilirubin levels.

Doctors' opinion

Borisov Nikolay Sergeevich, cardiologist

These drugs are often used to treat diseases of the heart and blood vessels. They are highly effective, have a small number of contraindications and can be prescribed even to people with impaired liver and kidney function.

Vasilyeva Inna Stepanovna, cardiologist

The advantage of these drugs is that they can be prescribed to older people, unlike older generation beta blockers, which cause side effects.

Shukurov Chori Abdullaevich, neurologist

Bisoprolol or Concor are often used to treat hypertension. They are highly effective, but they also have their contraindications. These drugs should not be prescribed for acute heart failure, bradycardia, children under 18 years of age, bronchial asthma and cardiogenic shock.

How to take beta blockers correctly?

For different diseases and depending on the patient’s condition, the dosage of drugs may be different:

  • for hypertension, the initial dose is 5 mg per day, gradually increasing it to 10 mg per day;
  • for coronary heart disease, the dosage ranges from 2.5 to 10 mg per day. It is selected strictly individually until the pulse rate reaches 50-60 beats per minute;

What is the difference

Concor is produced by the German pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA. Bisoprolol is its generic version, which is produced by various Russian enterprises, such as Ozon Pharm, CJSC Vertex, Rafarma, Biocom, etc., as well as Ukrainian, Belarusian and Indian manufacturers. This is reflected in the cost of this product.

There are some differences in the composition of the drugs:

  1. In Concor, the active compound may be present in quantities of 5 or 10 mg. Bisoprolol is available in dosages of 10, 5 and 2.5 mg.
  2. Among the auxiliary components of Concor there is an anhydrous form of calcium hydrogen phosphate, hypromellose and dimethicone. Bisoprolol uses croscarmellose and polyvinyl alcohol instead of these compounds.
  3. The generic may contain a monohydrate form of lactose. This drug is contraindicated for use in patients with lactase deficiency and glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.
